While Matt may not have a library full of leather bound books, he is kind of a big deal. As a player, coach, trainer, and scout his baseball pedigree is unique, varied, and rare to find in Minnesota. Matt was a standout player at St. Louis Park High School, Normandale CC, and the University of Northern Iowa. Add three seasons of professional baseball and twenty-six of townball and this guy has played a lot of games. He has coached teams at every level of youth baseball from high school varsity to little league. He has trained hundreds of players with a variety of backgrounds, from Big Leaguers to people picking up a bat for the first time. Matt worked for fifteen years as a scout at Inside Edge and is an associate scout for the LA Dodgers. He has even umped some games, but says he doesn’t like it much.
